Senegal, Liberia, and Egypt before I was ten, then back to Baltimore, where I started. Moving like that teaches you early that meaning is not fixed. It leaves you with a question you never quite put down: what will somebody think this is, before they have read a word of it?
How I Got Here
I was born in Baltimore, spent a few years of my childhood in Senegal and Liberia, then Egypt, and came back to the States before I was ten. By then I had acclimated to one culture and then another, and coming home meant doing it once more. I work from Baltimore again now.
What I took from that was an eye for symbols. Hieroglyphs first, then everything after them: how a mark carries meaning, how communication changes shape between cultures, how people read a thing long before they read a word of it. That is the job I do now, and I was working on it well before I knew it was one.
I have kept my hands in it since. Pencil and pen, charcoal, acrylics and pastels, and for a while photography I developed myself in a darkroom. None of that was training for the job and all of it was. The habit it left me with is to make the thing before deciding about it.

Founding team member with equity, working on strategy and direction alongside the C-suite. Built TAP, the company's data and analytics platform, from the ground up as brand, product and user experience. Georgia Transit and Chicago Transit were onboarded onto it.

How I Work
Fractional means a business gets senior creative direction without carrying a full-time hire. In practice it means I build early and look at it early. A rough version of the real thing says more in a week than a deck says in a month, so the first pass is usually something you can click, hold, or walk past. Then it changes and gets built again, and what I hand over is the working system with the documentation a team needs to keep it going without me.
Outside of Work
Most evenings there is something in progress: a drawing, a prototype on its third pass, or a terrarium that has outgrown its jar. The appeal is the same in all three. You make a small world, you watch what it does, and then you change it.
