Exploratory boutique tea company branding and produced packaging.
College class assignment to create a brand, create the packaging, and finally produce the design.
The process of producing the case and boxes was quite an interesting ride since I wanted to test a theory and have it work on the first try. Found this shiny box, picked up matte black spray paint, sheets of translucent tacky film, an exacto knife, printer, and an inverted template to trace.
Once I had the materials it was just meticulously hand carving out the areas I wanted to paint. One shot. If you look close you can see my hand-wobbles around the edges. Removed the film after a double coat of paint and I couldn't have been more elated with the result.
These boxes were fun to measure twice for a nice snug fit while still having room to slide out. I would redesign this top opening with a tab to pull up and a deeper lip on the sides and front. With a larger production budget, using color coordinated packaging and matte ink of a darker hue, this could be produced for some exclusive tea leaves from a fancy company.
